#pledgeyourpart
“In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist.” -
Angela Y. Davis
We must all work to not just be non-racist but be anti-racist. This is your opportunity to be #partofthesolution and to #pledgeyourpart.
How will you be anti-racist – will you challenge racial stereotypes? Will you read more diverse books? Will you educate those around you? Will you stand up for those that experience racism?
To take part -
• Download the branded PART png selfie frame. You can find it at here. Save a copy to your device.
• Add your selfie in the centre of the frame
(Our recommendation on your phones – Download the Snapseed app. Add your downloaded png PART selfie frame. Click tools and scroll down to select double exposure. Click on the photo picture at the bottom of the screen and add your selfie. Save your pic)
Choose your pledge and then share it with your photo on social media. This will help to raise awareness. Let people know your commitment to anti-racism and encourage the rest of community, your friends, colleagues, and others in your network to pledge their part.
Use the hashtags #partofthesolution and #pledgeyourpart
Tag us @pandaantiracism on Twitter or @pandaantiracismteam on Instagram/Facebook
You can also choose to add your frame for your profile picture on Facebook, search for PART to bring up the frame.
This is all about raising awareness, showing others that you are anti-racist and encourage others to do the same.
Last month PART was two whole years old, due to life kicking my arse it went without celebration and with this Saturday being United Nations Anti-Racism day I thought what better way to mark it then a week (well 6 days) of pledging our PART!!
Every day I will be setting anti-racism challenges, nothing too difficult but ways that you can get involved and share knowledge. And then the week will culminate on Saturday with a video from me (or Facebook live if I'm feeling brave) and the launch of PART's first campaign.
Keep your eyes peeled and get ready to be PART of the Solution
Easy one to ease you in. We're thinking anything that is diverse, pushes you to think about equality, makes you want to be #partofthesolution
The world is a huge, diverse place and lessons are there to be learnt. Where have you been, where do you want to go, what can you learn?
Standing up for what we believe is so important, being an upstander not a bystander in the face of racial injustice will make a change. Throughout history many have done just that, who for you springs to mind? Who can we learn from?
Quotes can take you back to a moment and uplift you to do your best. Be your best. What is your favourite?
Day Five - Let's think about what we are striving for, a world with no racism. What does that look like? How will that make you feel?
