Our Vision

Origins

Through experiences since moving to Kent, survey data received, discussions already held and alongside my work with young people in schools I believe that the negative incidents that have been experienced could have been avoided had there been education and an open dialogue about racism and its affects. We have been made aware of casual racism which is disguised as banter, direct racism in the form of taunts and a disrespect towards those that may have differences.

Mission

Working collaboratively with young people, parents, teachers and professionals to make a difference to people’s lives PART supports equality, embraces inclusion and educates others to do the same.

PART works towards enhancing anti-racism education and supports a decrease in mental health issues, hate crimes and ignorance to effect positive change.

Becoming PART of the Solution

We all have a part in preventing and responding to racism. Racism is becoming more prevalent in our communities and schools, through the use of language, physical abuse and indirectly leading to a negative impact upon people’s mental health and wellbeing

We are aware that there are extreme beliefs held by some but by taking part in the programme young people will be challenged on these views and allowed the opportunity to approach these situations more respectfully. This will lead to less racially motivated incidents, less mental health issues being faced by those targeted, a reduction in misunderstandings formed from a lack of knowledge which will lead to a more inclusive community that celebrates diversity and equality.

PART wants to make a change by helping schools and students to feel confident and capable of preventing and tackling racism. We want young people to feel comfortable with challenging racism, to feel more resilient, empowered to cope with incidents and ensure that schools are being inclusive to all that attend
